Session Overview
Through incorporating a community-driven, housing-first, and person-centered approach, Trans Housing Coalition's services exemplify how there is still room for expanding best practices for serving a historically underserved community experiencing homelessness. Presenters will also incorporate an experiential learning component to highlight the experiences of the community we serve.

Ricardo Hernandez

Ricardo is a non-binary, Latinx, case manager who has been working with the Trans and GNC community to tackle homelessness for the past 3 years in the metro-Atlanta area. Ricardo collaborates with clients on their housing navigation journey towards permanent housing and on to the lives they want to lead.
Ms. Jimmy Jayme Steger

Jayme is an African-American trans woman who has been working with the community for about 20 years. Jayme’s Focus the last three years has been working with the Housing First principal and her growth. . Her work is to combating homelessness and providing resources to clients (TRANS / GNC) that are on their journeys towards permanent housing, and the life they would like to have.

Lana, a Certified Nail Tech., has goals of starting her own nail spa for trans and non-binary motivated and creative individuals to work and build in a more suitable career and safe work environment. Through leading by example, she believes in the power of advocating, educating and empowering her community.
