Session Overview

From 2020 to 2023 in Washington State, we saw unprecedented changes in landlord/tenant law, limited resources for low income individuals, and high demand for emergency services. We will look at how the combination of these elements resulted in the de-stabilization of a Housing First PSH program and the steps that were taken to re-stabilize.

Presenter

As a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest I have witnessed the housing landscape struggle to meet the ever-growing need for affordability. With 8 years of dedicated engagement with individuals impacted by homelessness, I've cultivated expertise in providing direct assistance and coordinating comprehensive services for those facing housing instability. Presently, I'm deeply immersed in fostering housing programs tailored to the needs of low-income singles, families, and survivors of homelessness. My focus lies in offering specialized support to survivors of domestic violence/sexual assault (DV/SA), chronic homelessness, individuals affected by incarceration, and those grappling with substance use disorders (SUD) and/or mental and behavioral health challenges. My passion for this work comes from my own experiences grappling with housing instability throughout my life and a drive to create accessibility to essential needs for all.
