Session Overview
VHA is an active participant in efforts to increase services to AI/AN Veterans including the WHCNAA's Homeless Veteran’s Initiative. This presentation will provide an overview of this collaborative work and summary of the Tribal HUD-VASH program, a demonstration program that offers permanent housing and supportive services to AI/AN homeless Veterans.

Meredith Malpass, LCSW, LCAS, CCS has worked within the Veterans Health Administration for the last 11 years, primarily working in the Housing and Urban Development-Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program. Meredith is presently a Regional Coordinator with the National HUD-VASH Program Office and oversees the Tribal HUD-VASH Program.

Carla Clark, LCSW is the Senior Tribal HUD-VASH case manager for the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. Carla’s current job duties are to provide clinical case management and supportive services to Veterans by utilizing the principles of the housing first model.
