The City Of Ottawa
Presenter
Katherine Hale created the CCB Training program in 2005 after a community consultation with homelessness service agencies in Ottawa. This program has grown from a few programs per year to 150, and includes a catalogue of 204 specialized training programs in four categories: 1. Understanding Client Challenges, 2. Helping Clients - Methods and Skills, 3. Resources, and Information Awareness, 4. Burnout Prevention, Self-Care, and Networking
She has published research, and created a “Think Tank” to develop programs & supports for front line workers. She continues to evaluate and respond to the needs of front-line workers and advocate for their support by building training programs based on their needs with adult education principles.
