Session Overview
“Aging in Place” is often an ill-defined and overused term. This presentation will: (1) explore how best to think about what is means to age in place in PSH, (2) provide an overview of current research, and (3) share examples of emerging interventions for managing and mitigating challenges.

Noah Fay

Noah Fay (MPA) is the Senior Director of Housing Programs with Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC). DESC has long been a national leader in Housing First and Harm Reduction services for vulnerable people experiencing homelessness. Noah has worked in a variety of roles and across programs at DESC, including as manager of the nationally renowned 1811 Eastlake project, as well as other key roles in the shelter, clinical and housing programs. Noah has also served as a trainer and consultant, both for DESC and the Corporation for Supportive Housing, emphasizing the effectiveness of PSH.

Abigail Cooper, Occupational Therapist, DESC's COAT Program - Abigail Cooper received her Masters in Occupational Therapy from UNC Chapel Hill in 2011. She has devoted her career to working with underserved populations in a variety of settings including hospitals, home health, the federal prison system, and Central America. She joined DESC in February 2022.
