Housing First and Jobs First are complementary models supporting access and stability to individuals experiencing homelessness. This session will equip participants with information on Friendship Place’s model and experiences in providing jobs first programming to diverse populations, integration with various housing approaches, and advocacy for wider use of the model.

Jean-Michel Giraud has worked in different settings including mental health, dual recovery and homeless services. During his tenure as President and CEO of Friendship Place, the organization has grown from a neighborhood association into a regional homeless services provider serving the DC Metropolitan Area with a national impact through best practices.

David Vicenty has served as Director of Friendship Place –AimHire since January 2019. He has more than 20-years of diverse workforce development experience and brings his lived expertise as an individual who has experienced unemployment and homelessness while living in his car. David is also a Certified Workforce Development Professional.

Richard McKey serves as Assistant Director of Friendship Place AimHire; a Jobs First model for workforce development. He has served at Friendship Place since 2018, oversaw the DC Jobs First Pilot Program from DC DOES , holds extensive Job Developer experience, and is a Certified Workforce Development Professional.
