VinziDach- Housing First Salzburg has more than twelve years of experience in Housing First and has now provided housing for over 140 clients, with a success rate of 93%. The aim of the study is to document the impact of Housing First on homeless people with mental illness and addiction. The study will be finalised in July 2025 and shows the effects of Housing First in Salzburg based on three dimensions: At the micro level, the empowerment potential is shown, at the meso level the effects of Housing First on regional organisations working on homelessness and at the macro level the clinical relief potential for psychiatry in Salzburg. The study not only demonstrates the individual benefits for those supported by Housing First, but also visualises a form of economic relief potential.

How Housing First works in Salzburg

Biography

Samuel Kok has been a social worker at VinziDach- Housing First Salzburg since 2021 and in a managerial role since 2024. He has also been employed as schientific staff at the Research Institute for Real Estate, Construction and Housing since 2022. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and a Master's degree in Social Innovation.
