Currently an expert and employee of non-governmental organizations and a micro-entrepreneur. Substantive coordinator of the implementation of the innovative Housing First method in Gdańsk, Warsaw and Wrocław, working with people experiencing long-term homelessness and suffering from mental disorders and addictions, working at the Saint Brother Albert Aid Society. President of the board of the Polish Housing First Association. From April 2015 to July 2018, deputy director for social integration in the Department of Social Development of the City Hall in Gdańsk, coordinator and co-creator of new social policies in the city of Gdańsk, among others. in the field of social problems, cooperation with non-governmental organizations, mental health, migration and integration and equal treatment. Co-founder and member of the National Federation for Solving the Problem of Homelessness OFRPB. In the years 2001 to 2014, secretary of the board and director of the Pomeranian Forum in Aid of Getting Out of Homelessness. A trained social worker (specialization - organizing local communities) and a sociologist, coordinator of projects aimed at the social and professional reintegration of homeless people and developing a coherent model of social policy. Former member of the research working group and member of the Administrative Board of the European Federation of National Organizations Working with the Homeless FEANTSA.

Sam Tsemberis, Ph.D., is a clinical-community psychologist who originated the “Housing First” model, an evidence based program for effectively ending homelessness for individuals diagnosed with mental illness and addiction. Housing First programs are successfully implemented across the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Dr. Tsemberis has decades of experience in program operations, training, consultation, and research. He currently serves as CEO of the Pathways Housing First Institute, is on the faculty at UCLA Department of Psychiatry and serves as Executive Director of the UCLA-VA Center of Excellence for Training and Research on Veterans Homelessness and Recovery. He has published widely on the topics of homelessness, mental illness, and addiction and received recognition for Independent Contribution to Practice from the American Psychological Association and awarded the Meritorious Service Cross from the Government of Canada. The Pathways Housing First Institute and DESC founded and continue to convene the Housing First Partners Conference.
